So long, no type

Good Sunday morning webtards!

It has been a while since we last met. So I will hurry up and bring you up to speed on what's happening in my life.
1. I have a puppy
2. I'm still married...almost a whole year!
3. I still have a job
4. I am an aunt
5. I am doing the Insanity challenge
6. I'm in the market for a house

Now let me elaborate some.

My sweet sweet husband bought me an olde English bulldog for my 23rd birthday last November. His name is Dozer and he is precious. At this moment he I sleeping (like everybody else) with his head draped over my ankle. We went with an olde English bulldog instead of a regular English bulldog because of the increased health issues that regular English bulldogs can have. Dozer is just as precious and wrinkly as his counter-part though.

Secondly, if you're keeping up, then you will know in just over a month my husband and I will have been married one full year. People say the first year is the hardest...well let's hope that they are right. Because if everything works out then this coming year will be awesome! Our marriage, I imagine, is like most people's. We get into arguments, we bicker, I nag, we make up, and laugh about it later. I'm hopping that this is typical anyway. But no matter what the case we still love each other, and even after some intense silent treatment, we never go to bed angry.

Next on the list, I still work as a registered nurse in the acute cardiac and coronary intervention units. Once I got off orientation I worked 4-5 nights a week on the 3p-11p shift. I was super excited about this shift at first because I didn't have to work any weekends and I could sleep late every morning. However, with Obamacare in place, out hospital is having to cut back, therefore they could hire people in solely to work weekends. This caused a pickle with staffing, which resulted in my and a few other new hires schedules being changed to include one weekend a month. Now at first, this did not seen all that bad, but once I worked my new pattern a few times, it got old quick. I was working 5 days straight, off one day, then working 4 more days. That is nine out of ten days straight! By the end of it I was worn out and tired. I had no off time to get things done away from work, so a change was coming. One of the guys from work was taking a job closer to his home, so I put in for a shift change.  Today I am proudly working 7p-7a. This is probably why I am wide awake at 12:50 in the morning. 12 hour nights have their benefits. First of all I make about $3 more, and secondly I get more days off in a week. What's not awesome about that?

The other huge change in my life, happened last September. My sister and brother-in-law, had their first child, Robin Cassidy. She is now a precious 8 month old. She looks so much like my sister it is unnerving. She is a sweet little, blue eye and blonde haired beauty. My roll in this child's life is coolest aunt ever/ baby-sitter. Although I haven't had to baby-sit too much thanks to working nights. But I do what I can to help out.

In one of my first posts, I mentioned looking for ways to lose weight quick for my wedding. Well that didn't happen, but now I'm trying to lose weight for the beach. My lovely sister has somehow tricked me into doing Shaun T's Insanity 60 day Challenge. Well at the present moment we have just completed week 5 of the 8 week program. I haven't lost much weight, per say, but I have lost inches here and there. We are in month 2 and it is kicking my butt. I've ha to purchase knee braces for my aching knees. With all the jumping we do I was certain that they were going to blow out at some point. If nothing else is accomplished in this workout program I can at least say that I have insane legs (my quads and calves are huge!).

Last but not least, my husband and I have come to the conclusion that it is time for us to purchase a house. No renting or leasing, we want a home of our own. For the past two weeks we have been out looking and every time we get our hopes up, the house we want gets sold before we can even make a bid on it. It can be sort of frustrating. However, yesterday we spent the day driving by houses we found online, because our realtor was out of town. We found some prospects that do look promising. After church. This morning we plan on going to an open-house at my favorite prospect house. The husband, liked the pictures, he just isn't so sure of living in a garden home, especially with the next house 3 feet over. Hopefully walking through the house will win him over .

Well I feel like you should be caught up on my life for now. I do apologize for not writing more, but hey I've been busy...or lazy. I do both really well. Haha.  Anyways, hopefully all this typing will help me fall back asleep.

Until next time, stay classy!
